I loved the first book in this trilogy, and the author is a friend of mine. Can’t wait to read this one!

What I’m Watching

I just want to say that I cried like a baby during the final season finale. I’m going to miss this show.

au_rich_large_beautyandthebeast_payoff_4bfd4fa0.jpeg

I got to see Beauty and the Beast this month and it was amazing! Totally worth going to see in theaters. I must confess that I cried during this movie as well. Is there anything more heart-breaking than people turning into inanimate objects?

What I’m Listening To

I have eclectic taste in music, but I’ve been rocking out to I Prevail’s Lifelines album recently.

What I’m writing

giphy (3).gif

I’ve been super motivated lately and I’m on the home stretch on my second work in progress. Once I’m finished with that, I’ll go back to my first novel for a third round of edits. It’s a lot of work, but I’m feeling accomplished.

What else?

33846206

Another writer friend released her debut novel this month and I’m so proud of her. I helped beta-read for her and I was honored (and ecstatic) to be mentioned in her acknowledgements page. I always hoped I’d make it there someday, so it was a bit surreal for me.

Monthly Update, AKA I’m finally crawling out from the rock I’ve been under

The whole month of February flew by and I totally dropped the ball on my blog. I haven’t posted in a while, but I have a perfectly legitimate excuse. I moved, as in, my entire existence had to be boxed up and moved 12 miles down the road to my dream house in the country. Totally worth it; super inconvenient. I haven’t been able to blog or write, but I always make time to read and I’ve devoured some pretty good reads as of late.

The Invasion of the Tearling by Erika Johansen

I finally read The Queen of the Tearling since they are making a movie and Emma Watson (who’s, like, my absolute fav) is starring in it. I totally get it now. This series is awesomesauce and I can’t wait to devour the entire trilogy.

I recently started another highly-recommended series, the Elemental Trilogy, and it’s very, very good. Looking forward to reading this last installment.

What I’m Watching

riverdale

With Vampire Diaries in its last season, I need another CW guilty pleasure to hold me over. Riverdale hits the spot.

What I’m Writing

giphy (2).gif

I haven’t had a chance to get my butt in the chair and write (mostly because said chair was packed and moved), but I have been using the monotonous unpacking time to plot for my current work in progress. Here’s hoping I can translate the plan to the page.

What else?

tumblr_ni847qbiwv1s9dqc1o1_500

It was my birthday! You know what that means? Books. The top item on my wish list every year. It was nice to add them to the growing stacks that I had to pack up. In fact, I was curious how many books I had in my shelves, so I counted as I packed thinking I had maybe 200 or so. I had 622 books! And yes, it was exhausting to pack them all, not to mention it took forever since I had to reminisce with each one before carefully packing it away.

My Top Books of 2016

Another year has passed us by, and to 2016 I say good riddance. However, I read a lot of good books over the year. In fact, I read 115 of them, surpassing my Goodreads goal of 100 books.

What I’m Watching

16917305_900x1200

Feel free to judge me because lord knows I judge myself. I recently completed my five season binge of Scandal and decided to check out The Vampire Diaries since I’m a huge fan of The Originals. Subsequently, I’m now obsessed and have seven seasons to catch up on, which leaves very little time for reading.

What I’m Writing

shield-nano-blue-brown-rgb-hires

IT’S TIME!!! National Novel Writing Month, or NaNoWriMo, is back to plague me as one of the only ways that motivates me to write. This year, I’m writing a New Adult Romance based on a real life event, where a guy tracked me down after meeting me at a bachelorette party by emailing the bride-to-be. Although flattered, it was a bit creepy not to mention that I was super married at the time. (Why don’t guys check for a wedding ring before pursuing women?) Either way, I appreciate his leap of faith because it will make for an awesome beginning to my novel.

Monthly Recap and Book of the Month

In September, I read at a leisurely pace while drinking tea (which I didn’t used to enjoy but now I do with a crap-ton of honey) and sipping with my pinky in the air (optional, of course).

What I’m Watching

poldark-season-2

So if you’re like me and loved Downton Abbey, then you have a gaping hole in your life since it ended. It took me awhile to fill the void, and perhaps you are looking for something to fill yours. Look no further, because Poldark will do the trick. This PBS show is based on the novels by Winston Graham. It is a period piece filled with men both honorable and not, and uniquely relatable heroines. There is love and loss and drama, OH THE DRAMA! Season 2 just started so binge season one on Amazon Prime while you can.

What I’m Listening To

32056381-_uy200_

I’m only a few chapters in, and this angst-filled novel has me sucked in with a bajillion questions. I’m very much intrigued. Plus, it’s narrated by two of my favorite voice actors, so it’s that much more enjoyable.

What I’m Watching

Harry-potter-films

I’m going to Harry Potter World at Universal Studios in Orlando for the FIRST TIME over labor day weekend. In preparation, I’m binge-watching the entire movie series. It’s amazing how much I’ve forgotten from the movies. I can’t imagine how much I’ve forgotten from the actual HP book series. Someday I’ll reread them, but not today.

What I’m Writing

pusheen-writing-book-animated-gif

I’m prepping for NaNoWriMo in November. This time I’m going to plot my novel, not write by the seat of my pants. Hopefully, this will spare me unnecessary edits in the future.

June Recap and Book of the Month

The year is flying by and I’m hoping to keep better track of what I’m reading and reviewing, so I’m adding a monthly recap and planning to get my ducks in a row.

Bookbub – This daily ebook deal email is seriously causing me to abuse one-click ordering on Amazon. However, every time I open my kindle there is always a slew of new books waiting to be read. Managing not only a physical to-be-read list but a digital one is getting to be difficult.

What I’m Writing

This is it. The moment I admit to the blogosphere that I’m working on cleaning up that NaNoWriMo I finished last year. I’m half-way through the first round of edits. Here’s hoping I can keep it up and stay motivated.
