It’s Tuesday! The wonderful day that books are released to the world.
This week I’m anticipating the release of Independent Study by Joelle Charbonneau on Tuesday, January 7, 2014. The much-anticipated sequel to The Testing.
In the series debut The Testing, sixteen-year-old Cia Vale was chosen by the United Commonwealth government as one of the best and brightest graduates of all the colonies . . . a promising leader in the effort to revitalize postwar civilization. In Independent Study, Cia is a freshman at the University in Tosu City with her hometown sweetheart, Tomas—and though the government has tried to erase her memory of the brutal horrors of The Testing, Cia remembers. Her attempts to expose the ugly truth behind the government’s murderous programs put her—and her loved ones—in a world of danger. But the future of the Commonwealth depends on her.
I loved the first book in this series. (See link above.) Now that Cia has found the recording she made of the truth, I can’t imagine what she’s going to do now. However, I’m excited to see her fall in love with Tomas all over again. What an interesting concept. I wonder if it will be the same or if they will love each other for different reasons this time. Or, who knows, she may make some mistakes before she acknowledges the truth. Either way, I’m super pumped about this book.
